Barnhaven's two holiday homes nestle in the secluded hamlet of Polladras, located on the lower slopes of Tregonning Hill, with views towards Godolphin Hill. The picturesque harbour town of Porthleven is only a short drive away with Praa Sands mile long beach of golden sand only a 10 minute drive away.
Accommodation
The Holiday Homes have been refurnished and have a new kitchen, shower room and heating.
Each holiday home provides the following accommodation:
* Master bedroom with a double bed
* Bedroom 2 with 2 single beds
* Lounge/Kitchen diner
* Shower room with toilet
All linen (except towels) and electricity is included. Cots and highchairs are available.
Surroundings
You approach the holiday homes through an old field gate, where there is plenty of parking space, with good room for bicycles behind the holiday homes.
The car park spaces are 20 yards from the two holiday homes, over a level path.
The holiday homes are set amongst traditional Cornish granite homes, and are well situated for footpaths and walks.
Both holiday homes have plenty of space for relaxing and resting in the sun, sitting out on the lawn, or a lazy barbeque as sunset settles across the lawns. Garden chairs and tables are supplied. You will soon feel at home in this quiet, rural part of Cornwall.
There are fine walks onto Tregonning and Godolphin hills, with panoramic views from their summits of the surrounding countryside - the sea to the south; 2 miles to Praa Sands; and the north coast; 7 miles to Carbis Bay and beyond to St.Ives. To the west you see Penzance and to the east the Lizard peninsula stretches out before you.
Tregonning Hill is famous as the place where William Cookworthy first discovered china clay in Britain before larger deposits were located further east toward St. Austell.
The surrounding fields are used mainly as paddocks, and for growing daffodils and vegetables. Peacocks wander freely nearby, and you'll often hear owls at night.
Additional information
Both holiday homes are on one level, and are entered through a door 66 cm(26 ins) wide.
The kitchen work surfaces are at a height of 94 cm.(37 ins)
