Crafthole is a pretty village in the parish of Sheviock
A picturesque dovecote stands on the outskirts of the village on the road which leads down to the sea at Portwrinkle. Today it is used as a store house.
The former village pump still stands in Crafthole, a reminder of the times until the 1930s when villagers would have had to make their way here for all their water.
An ancient cross stands on the roadside on the hilltop, moved from its original position which would have left it in the middle of a roadway. It stands on a modern circular base, two steps high. Its height is 3ft and width 1ft 9in. The upper limb of the cross has been damaged. Fairs and markets were once held here in the area near the cross. The cross is believed to have been on a pilgrimage route for saints and other pilgrims passing through Cornwall.
