Minack Theatre

Porthcurno, Porthgwarra to Penberth Cove Coastal Walk - Walks in Cornwall, Land's End Peninsula

The Minack Theatre is the most famous cliff theatre in Britain, possibly in the world, carved into the granite cliff overlooking the spectacular panorama of Porthcurno bay.

Our summer season of plays, opera and musicals runs for seventeen weeks from May to September.

The Rowena Cade Exhibition tells the remarkable story of how a girl who enjoyed the gentility of Victorian Cheltenham grew up to build an internationally famous theatre with her own hands.

Visit during the day, explore the theatre and relax in our Coffee Shop overlooking the theatre and soak up the magic of the Minack.

Our web site at www.minack.com displays all the information you need to know about:

THE SEA SHOW celebrates Cornwall’s unique relationship with the ocean using puppets, narration and live music. It is a quirky mix of storytelling, puppet show, natural history programme and cabaret, with tall tales, comedy characters, fascinating facts, songs, superstitions, recipes, remedies, rhymes and riddles.

Come on a journey to Ancient Cornwall…
A land of fiery volcanoes and strange prehistoric creatures…
A land of myth and legend, giants and druids…
A land of ancient stone circles and mysterious monuments…
A land of Stones and Bones…

Stones And Bones is a marvellous mix of history and mystery!
Find out all about archaeology and fossils, say hello to one of your stone-age ancestors, hear stories of giants and wizards, see a volcano erupting before your very eyes, and maybe even glimpse a dinosaur or two…
There will be thrills and spills galore, but also lots of laughs, plenty of puppets, songs, slapstick, tall tales and crazy characters – all presented in that unique Squashbox style!

Animals are amazing! There are big ones, little ones, scaly ones, furry ones, friendly ones and scary ones! There are over 8 million different species of animal on earth today and in this show we're going to meet all of them! (Ok, not all of them, but quite a few).

Welcome to the ‘Curious Creatures’ wildlife park, established by Jeremiah Johnson: world-renowned explorer, zoologist and animal collector. Nobody knows more about animals than him.
Unfortunately, Jeremiah Johnson is currently lost somewhere in the jungles of Africa, so he has handed the running of the park over to his inexperienced nephew Craig… and things don’t quite go as planned.

Expect to meet curious creatures of all shapes and sizes: from performing fleas, skateboarding snails and gymnastic gerbils to irritable alligators, over-excited elephants, and a very intelligent orang-utan!
Learn about how animals evolved, how their amazing adaptations help them survive in the wild, and how animals can help us learn more about ourselves. After all, we’re all related if you go back far enough!

SKILLYWIDDEN. Legend has it there are five faery 'races' in Cornwall: the Small Folk, the Piskies, the Knockers, the Brownies and - most mischievous of all - the Spriggans.

Join our hero on a journey through the Cornish landscape as he searches for these elusive creatures - in ancient stone circles, old mine workings, fields, farmland, hedgerows and moors

Learn about bees, bats, birds and badgers, and discover the secrets of the Cornish countryside!

Skillywidden is a celebration of the wildlife and countryside of Cornwall, using Squashbox Theatre’s distinctive mix of puppets, songs, storytelling and cabaret, with a strong environmental message. More crazy characters, more silly slapstick, more tall tales and more fantastic facts!
