What better way to start the beautiful autumn season than with a refreshing scenic walk taking in the stunning views of the North Helford river (pictures attached).
‘Walk Glendurgan’ is a new event in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care taking place on Sunday 10 October 2010.
This 6 mile walk is a great way to join others to recognise the wonderful work your local Marie Curie Nurses do for people with terminal cancer and other life limiting illnesses right here in Cornwall.
Pictured is Sue Selwyn, a Marie Curie volunteer from Falmouth by the sign for Glendurgan.
Sue says; “I became involved with Marie Curie Cancer Care Cornwall after seeing an advertisement in the paper for a different event last year and since then I haven’t looked back. The fundraising work here in Cornwall is absolutely essential to be able to continue this valuable service entirely free of charge to patients and their families. By taking part in ‘Walk Glendurgan’ you will be helping to fund these local Marie Curie Nurses, whilst also giving yourself the chance to dust off those walking boots and get some much needed fresh air in your lungs.”
Only £10 to enter for adults and £5 for children (the walk is not recommended for children under 5 yrs of age as it is quite hilly in places) with a nice hot cup of soup and a roll from the café at Glendurgan when completing the walk. Please call Nikki at the fundraising office on 01872 260 500 for more information or an entry form or e-mail Nicola.firstname.lastname@example.org
