Jubilee Pool, Penzance, Renovation Wins ICE People's Choice Award

Penzance

The People’s Choice Award winner for 2017 is Jubilee Pool, Penzance – one of the 12 projects put forward from across the UK and voted for by the general public.

Jubilee Pool is one of the last saltwater tidal swimming pools remaining in Europe and the UK’s largest surviving outdoor lido. A major renovation programme with strong support from the local community resulted in a transformed pool and an extremely popular public leisure facility brought back to life. Over 100,000 visitors have since been to the pool.

The People’s Choice Awards saw a total of over 15.500 votes cast for the 12 nominated projects featured by the Institution of Civil Engineers.
