Thick-Legged Flower Beetle on Common Cat's Ear

Oedemera nobilis on Hypochoeris radicata. Cat's Ear flowers between June and September in dry, grassy places in many parts of Cornwall. The Thick-Legged Flower Beetle is also known as the False Oil Beetle or Swollen-Thighed Beetle feeds on the pollen and nectar of many plants including Asteraceae.
