St Piran's Day
|
Annual Celebration of the Patron Saint of Cornwall with events taking place around Cornwall. St Piran was an Irish Saint, who is said to have arrived in Cornwall in the 6th Century, founding a monastery at what is now Perranporth. Piran is reported to have sailed to Cornwall on a millstone. He is also credited with discovering tin smelting. The flag of St Piran became the Cornish flag, the white cross representing the white tin metal after it has been smelted from the black tin ore.

Hall.
Marazion 6pm Procession through Marazion by Mayor and Councillors from the Town Hall to Gwelva, followed by a performance by children from Marazion School.
