Festival of Lanterns. Family event aimed mainly at the children, with a little bit for the adults thrown in. We would like to encourage everyone to make a simple lantern using jam jars being carried on sticks. As it is Halloween we are encouraging everyone to wear fancy dress, and it would be nice if people along the route would put out pumkins to add to the atmosphere.
We will meet at a designated area at the top of the village at 5.45pm, and at 6.15pm we will start the procession of lanterns through the village to the village hall, led by our 'Pied Piper' where there will be a barbeque and a licenced bar.
We will then proceed to walk to the lighting of the bonfire, where sparklers will be available to buy. There will be a firework display at approximately 8pm, followed by music entertainment in the village hall at around 8.30/9pm. Entry to the hall is free. We are trying to raise much needed funds for the village hall.
