The White Hart Hotel, Hayle stands in at the heart of this historic town.
This prominent Grade II Listed building was owned and run as a hotel as early as 1838 by the Harvey family. Richard Trevithick, inventor of the high pressure steam engine was married to a former manager of the hotel.
Today, the White Hart remains an important part of Hayle's history and an ideal base for touring historic West Cornwall. Hayle stands at the gateway to the glorious Land's End peninsula. The town is steeped in history which you can read about at various points along the Town Trail. If that sounds too energetic, why not relax on the three miles of golden sands.
Truro, Redruth, Helston and Penzance are all within easy reach, the dramatic scenery of the rugged north coast and the eternal fascination of Land's End is only a short drive away, St. Ives, perhaps Cornwall's loveliest resort, is on the doorstep.
Visitors with an interest in industrial archaeology will find in Hayle and neighbouring Copperhouse, a fascinating insight into Cornwall's mining heritage.
For those with an interest in the supernatural, the White Hart is reputed to have its own resident ghost.
Hayle and West Cornwall has something to offer every visitor, with local facilities for cycling/MTB, birdwatching, golfing, horse riding and surfing in addition to the beautiful local beaches and scenic walks.
