Chapel Porth Beach Cleans

Monthly beach cleans during the winter months and see what weird and wonderful things wash up on the beach.

Gloves, bags and litter pickers supplied. Free drink for beach cleaners afterwards at Chapel Porth Café.

Free event. No booking required.
Children welcome with a supervising adult
Unfortunately dogs are not welcome at this event.

Meet at Chapel Porth, by the slipway onto the beach.

Wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear.

There is a short slope on to beach, with boulders and pebbles at top beach.

City of Lights

Date: 31 Jan / Time: From 7pm

This event has been rescheduled from November 2017.

Procession of glowing lanterns passing through the streets of Truro as over one thousand children parade through the city in an amazing display of light, music and dance. The City of Lights is Truro's largest annual community event.

Each year the lanterns are based on a different theme.

The event is combined with the switching on of the Christmas lights. The lantern parade will stop in Boscawen Street where the Christmas lights will be switched on by a special lantern.
