Basset's Cove is a sandy beach on the ‘North Cliffs’ near Portreath.
Access to the beach is difficult as the path is steep and requires you to scramble across loose rocks. The path begins just east of the car park.
The cove is named after John Francis Basset, a 19th Century mine owner whose residence was the nearby Tehidy House.
From the east, Basset's Cove can also be accessed from Porthcadjack Cove and Mirrose Well Cove, while from the west it can be reached at low water, from Deadman’s Cove and Greenbank Cove.
There is little or no beach at high tide. Rock pools at low tide.
The beach is sometimes used by surfers but the access makes it problematic.
Bassett's Cove is dog friendly with dogs allowed all year round.
