Coombe Hawne (Coombe Haven) is a small cove with a grey sand and shingle beach between Fowey's Readymoney Cove and Polridmouth

At low water the beach becomes more stony. It is a sheltered, inlet type beach with rocks on both sides.

Swimming is possible on an incoming tide but take care to stay within the inlet.

Snorkelling is excellent here and diving is also an option.

There are many rock pools to explore.

During the 19th century this cove was popular with smugglers.

There is no lifeguard service and no rescue equipment.

No facilities here. The nearest refreshments are at Coombe Farm tea room.
Toilets are at Readymoney Cove.

Coombe Hawne beach is dog friendly with dogs allowed all year round.

Access to the beach is via a walk along the coastal footpath.

From the Newtown roundabout on the outskirts of Fowey, follow the B3145 and then
immediately take the first right onto a narrow lane to Coombe. After nearly a mile (1.1km) there is a small National Trust car park.

Near the car park entrance follow the track down past the farm. After 220 yards (200m) you come to a stile in the hedge on your right. Cross the stile onto the path which leads you down the valley. After about a quarter of a mile (380m) the path meets the coast path above Coombe Hawne beach.

If you prefer, you can walk along the coast path from Readymoney Cove, passing St Catherine's Castle walk on the way. The walk is just over half a mile (1km).
