Leggan Cove is a quiet, sheltered beach tucked away on the eastern side of the Lizard Peninsula.
This small, sand and shingle beach is situated between two quarries - Dean Point and Porthoustock but neither are visible from the beach. The beach gives way to clear, sparkling water.
Leggan Cove can only be reached from the beach at Godrevy Cove at low tide. The best time to visit is on a falling tide so you have time to explore without being cut off by the sea.
The beach has a view of the Manacles, in Cornish, MĂȘn Eglos reef, a mile offshore. One of the most popular diving locations in the UK due to the number of ships wrecked here over the centuries. More than a thousand people have lost their lives on this notorious reef which consists of Mistrel Rock, Carn Du Rocks and the Varses.
Plenty of rock pools to explore.
Good for swimming in the right conditions.
Good snorkelling towards Manacle Point and around Leggan Point.
No lifeguard service.
No safety equipment
Leggan Cove is dog friendly with dogs allowed all year round.
No facilities. The nearest are around a mile away at St Keverne.
Parking is very limited. Some roadside parking at Rosenithon a 15 minute walk away.
