Morrab Gardens

Penzance Gardens and Parks Circular Walk takes you into the green and leafy open spaces within the town of Penzance and gives you a fine view of Mount's Bay from Penzance Promenade

The walk can be started at the bottom of Causewayhead.
Visit the map page to see start point and parking on the map.

Cross the street and walk into Chapel Street. After a short distance turn right near the supermarket into Parade Street. After a short walk turn left and follow the road downhill. You will see the gate of Morrab Gardens, Penzance's sub tropical gardens which is home to many interesting plants and shrubs.

After spending time exploring the gardens, follow the footpath downhill to the exit onto Morrab Road.

Turn left and follow Morrab Road to the seafront. At the bottom of the road turn right to walk along Penzance's Promenade. Continue along Western Promenade Road towards Wherrytown. Stay on the promenade until after the mini-roundabout until you see a garden with a boating lake on your right. Cross the road into the boating lake gardens.

Follow the pathway past the large lake and follow the water channel past the small circular pond and to the right into the narrow footpath beside the Penzance Rugby Football Club pitch.

At the end of the short alleyway cross Alexandra Road and turn left. Walk up Alexandra Road, then take the second right turn into Trewithen Road.

After a few minutes there will be an entrance on your right for Penlee Park. This park has playground facilities for children as well as large grassed areas with several tennis courts. Mature native trees provide a home for the park's many tame squirrels and the large variety of birdlife which lives here.

There are several exits from Penlee Park - one at the top of the park to the right of Penlee House Museum and another by following the pathway to the left of the museum building. Both exits lead to Morrab Road.

On reaching Morrab Road turn left and walk uphill past the Public Library which will be on your left. At the traffic lights turn right onto Alverton Street which will take you back into the shopping centre of Penzance.
