St Agnes Head and its surroundings lie at the heart of the former mining centre of St Agnes. The area is dotted many mine engine houses, some in the most stunning coastal settings you can imagine.

There is a NCI lookout located on the headland.

The recent adaptation of Poldark has used St Agnes Head as a filming location.

A large, sandy beach at low tide with many rock pools on the right of the beach.

On the cliffs on both sides of the beach there are many examples of Cornwall's mining heritage. Many adits are visible (the tunnels into the cliffs) and several engine houses can be seen.

You will notice many large blocks of stone on the left side of the beach, some of them still in their original position. These blocks are the remains of the harbour wall.

The cliffs at the back of the beach are very high and friable with many loose rocks so do not climb on them. There are a number of warning signs fixed to the cliff face.
