Fields of Corn Marigolds - Glebionis segetum - at West Pentire, Crantock, near Newquay. From late June and for most of July the fields of West Pentire are full of traditional corn field wild flowers. You can walk around the coast path at West Pentire or follow public footpaths towards Polly Joke taking you past these colourful fields.

In late June and for most of July this amazing display of Poppies can be seen at West Pentire, near Crantock.

The National Trust manages West Pentire as a nature reserve for animals and flowers. During June and July the headland comes alive with the vibrant colour of
thousands of poppies. You can enjoy a circular walk taking in the stunning poppy fields and the beautiful Porth Joke beach by following the link below.

Known locally as Polly Joke, this is a wonderful beach. Porth Joke can be accessed by walking from West Pentire, Holywell Bay via Kelsey Head or a valley walk from the NT car park adjacent to Cubert Common. Polly Joke is dog friendly all year round. It's perfect for dogs as it also has a freshwater stream flowing across the beach.

A short walk from West Pentire or from the National Trust car park on Cubert Common, Porth Joke is one of our favourite beaches and as it's dog friendly all year round, you and your four legged friends can enjoy it at any time of the year.
