Tamar Otter & Wildlife Centre

The Tamar Otter & Wildlife Centre has over 19 acres of landscaped grounds set in a tranquil and natural atmosphere for you to explore and enjoy; this includes two waterfowl lakes with a large variety of waterfowl and a woodland walk.

As you walk around the “wildwood” you will come across Fallow, Muntjac deer and Wallabies roaming freely among the trees. There are aviaries with different species of owls for you to see. At the far end you will come to the Old Quarry which houses a 50 foot waterfall.

The British and Asian Short Clawed Otters are in enclosures that allow you to watch them at close quarters. The Otters are fed at 12 noon and 3pm; this is accompanied by a very informative talk which should not be missed by visitors.

After a walk visit the refurbished tea room which has a large selection of items cooked on the premises using local produce for you to choose from, whether it’s for lunch, afternoon tea or a coffee break you will be made to feel very welcome.
