Tintagel Castle is famous worldwide for its association with the legends of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table.
Set high on the rugged cliffs of North Cornwall, the castle offers visitors magnificent views from the headland and the island.
Stone steps take you to the bridge which connects the mainland and the island. You enter through a gate into the courtyard and the remains of Richard, Earl of Cornwall's Great Hall.
18 acres of history and dramatic scenery are yours to explore including Dark Age remains, a chapel, well, garden and a tunnel.
The headland's history dates from at least the Roman period.
This ancient location has inspired many artists and writers. Not only of Arthur and Merlin but the love story of Tristan and Yseult.
Dogs on leads are welcome.
