Corvid on Mine Chimney Stack

This shiny, black bird is a member of the Crow family (Corvidae). Perched on top on a mine engine house chimney at Botallack, its body was obscured and only its head and beak could be seen. It is a Raven or a Carrion Crow (Corvus corax or Corvus corone), probably a Carrion Crow.

Other members of the crow family can be seen at Botallack including Choughs and Jackdaws.
