Kestrel perched beside coast path between Fishing Cove and Church Cove, Gunwalloe on the Lizard Peninsula.
Falco tinnunculus Kestrels belong to the family Falconidae - Falcons and allies
They can be seen in many places throughout Cornwall. When you see a bird of prey hovering beside the road or on a clifftop, chances are it's a kestrel looking for a meal. They can also be seen perched on cliffs and fence posts - anywhere where they can get a good view of their prey.
