The Gribbin

The Gribbin is a Daymark for shipping. It stands on a headland between Par and Fowey.

The structure was built in 1832 for Trinity House to indicate the approach to Fowey's rocky harbour entrance. It is over 85 foot (26 metres) tall. Owned by the National Trust, the building is occasionally open to the public when you can climb the 109 steps to the top to enjoy the panoramic views towards Fowey and St Austell.
