Bishop's Wood, in the Parish of St Breock, is a Forestry Commission wood, composed of a variety of trees - areas of broadleaved trees, mature Douglas fir and mixed woodland.
Some of the Douglas Firs are around 115ft/35m tall.
Bishop's Wood has many trails and tracks which are popular with walkers. The woods are dog friendly.
Polbrock Car Park is a popular spot for fishing and there are steps down to the River Camel for kayakers and canoeists to launch their craft. Wildlife that can be seen along this stretch of the River Camel includes otters, kingfishers and dippers.
On the opposite side of the river is the Camel Trail, which can easily be reached via Polbrock Bridge.

Fishermen require a rod license which is issued by the Environment Agency.
Parking at Polbrock Car Park. There are two picnic benches which are suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
Location:
From the A389 between Bodmin and Wadebridge turn off at Washaway for Polbrock/Pendavey.
After about 1 mile/1.6km, turn left at the white fingerpost for Polbrock/Ruthern. After approx. 1000 yards/0.9km, turn right at the sign for Grogley/Ruthern Bridge and cross the two bridges. The car park will be on your right.
