Bissoe Nature Reserve, a former mining site and now a habitat of heathland, woodland and ponds, is a fine example of a land reclamation and restoration programme.
The 7.5 acre/3 hectare reserve was gifted to the Cornwall Wildlife Trust in 2000 by the former Carrick District Council.

Walking, cycling and horse riding are popular in the Bissoe Valley. The Mineral Tramways, Coast to Coast Trail passes through the north of BIssoe Valley.
Bissoe Valley Nature Reserve can be visited at any time of the year.
