Camerance Wood is located on the Roseland side of the River Fal in the parish of St Just in Roseland.
The small area of woodland encircles Turnaware Point. Tolcarne Creek enters the woodland.
Yankee Road passes through the woodland. A concrete road which was built to provide access to Turnaware Point which was a D Day embarkation site in World War 2. The concrete was found to be reflective because of the mica it contained so a thin tarmac layer had to be applied to it in case German pilots noticed it.
The area was used for training troops and the US Army 29th Infantry Division used the road as they left for the Normandy beaches in June 1944.
The wood is owned by the National Trust.
