Lower Lewdon Nature Reserve is a mixture of culm grassland and woodland with many springs. The reserve covers 11 acres/5 hectares
There are boardwalks and a signposted track to guide you around the reserve.
Lower Lewdon provides a great habitat for birds, flowering plants, fungi, badgers and butterflies.
Wildlife you are likely to see at Lower Lewdon: Marbled white butterfly from late June to August; Willow tit; Devil's-bit Scabious; Marsh Fritillary butterfly.
Wear suitable footwear as the paths can often be wet and muddy.
The reserve is interesting at any time of the year.
There is limited parking available.
Dogs are allowed to walk on the reserve with their owners.

Lower Lewdon is located near Kilkhampton. From the B3254 take the turn to Hessaford Farm, following the lane to a small car park on the left. A short walk from the car park you find a footpath leading to the reserve.
