This walk is based on the Portreath to Hell's Mouth section of the Cornwall Coast Path and is intended for walkers who want to enjoy this section of the coast path and make it a circular walk.

Park at Portreath

First, use the information on the Portreath to Hell's Mouth Coastal Walk page to get yourself to Hell's Mouth.

After exploring the area around Hell's Mouth you can return to Portreath by retracing your steps along the coast path or by using a network of public footpaths that will take you back to Portreath via Tehidy Woods.

Behind the cafe is the start of a public footpath. Follow the path along the edge of the wood for a short distance before turning left to cross through it. After less than 0.5 of a mile you will reach a minor road. Turn left onto the road.

Follow the road when it bends to the right and when you come to the next right turn ignore it and instead take the public footpath to your left. You will soon reach a T in the path, go left and follow the Red River upstream beside the trees for approximately 1 mile.

You will then join a minor road. Turn left and follow the road around a sharp left. You will see a public footpath on your right. Follow this into Tehidy Country Park.

Walk through Tehidy Woods following the trail signposted to Eastern Lodge.

When you reach the main road turn left (watch out for the traffic as this road can be quite busy). Cross the road and look for the signpost for the trail leading into Portreath. Follow the trail back into Portreath.
