Rosemullion Head is a promontory on the south coast of Cornwall between the Helford River and Falmouth
The headland contains the remains of an Iron Age cliff castle and formerly there were two Bronze Age round barrows visible on the site.
The cliff castle appears to have had a ditch and a 10ft high bank.
A more recent addition to the headland is a nineteenth century boundary stone. This marked the limits of the Borough of Falmouth's area of jurisdiction. The stone would have been painted red and every few years it would have featured in the 'beating the bounds'.
In more recent times, Rosemullion Head was the site of a gun emplacement for Second World War anti-aircraft guns. Remains of the concrete bases can still be seen.
Just off Rosemullion Head, not visible from the land, are two shipwrecks: the Endeavour, out of Exeter, wrecked in 1804 during a gale; and the Alma, a wooden cargo sloop, which sank in 1895. The Endeavour's cargo of linen, sailcloth and wine was saved but the crew of the vessel all lost their lives.
The headland falls within the Helford Voluntary Marine Conservation Area (HVMCA). To the south of the head, the coastal fringe is important for its geology and marine life.
