Seaton Valley Countryside Park is situated in a steep-sided, wooded valley between Hessenford and the coastal village of Seaton.
It was previously a derelict caravan park. It is now owned by Cornwall Council.
The nature reserve covers 53.8 hectares and consists of a variety of habitats including grassland, ponds, semi-ancient woodland and the River Seaton.
The Local Nature Reserve is home to wildlife such as fritillary butterflies, otters, dormice, kingfishers and birdlife.
Facilities include a car park, toilets, picnic area with benches, childrens play area, outdoor gym and a sensory garden.
In 2005 the Park was awarded Cornwall's first Green Flag Countryside Park and Local Nature Reserve recognising it as one of the best green spaces in the country. This prestigious award is similar to the Blue Flag Award for clean beaches.
