The Saint Piran Trail is a multi-purpose trail between Truro and Bodmin passing through Newquay
In Cornish it is known as Hens Sen Peran.
This trail can be used by walkers, cyclists, horse riders and as the St Piran Trail is all on minor roads, it can also be accessed by car or motorcycle.
The St Piran Trail is 34.5 miles long (55 km).
The trail heads north from Truro following minor roads. At Idless it passes an area with excellent woodland walks. At St Newlyn East the parish church has an ancient fig tree growing in its wall. At Newquay, famous for its surfing beaches, the trail follows a route inland to St Columb Major, one of the few towns which still has an annual hurling competition.
The trail then crosses Denzell Downs and meets the River Camel at Padstow. Here it merges with the Camel Trail which follows the estuary of the Camel inland.
