Stanbury Mouth has a large beach of rocks, shingle and sand and is available at both low and high water.
With grey sand at high tide, it has areas of yellow sand at low water and many rock pools to explore.
Backed by tall cliffs of folded sedimentary rocks and with distinctive rock platforms pointing like fingers into the sea, the geology of Stanbury Mouth is characteristic of this stretch of coastline.
A stream cascades onto the beach and this can create an impressive waterfall during Winter months.
Surfing is possible at this west facing beach but only for the experienced surfer. This is not a swimming beach.
Stanbury Mouth is dog friendly with dogs allowed all year round.
There are no facilities here except for rescue equipment near the access to the beach. There is no lifeguard service.
Car parking is limited and the main car park is around a half mile away so you must walk to the beach.
A steep path descends to the beach from the Cornwall Coast Path.
Several small beaches to the south and north can be accessed from Stanbury Mouth at low tide - Caunter, Rane and Holocombe Beaches.
