Tregantle beach is a fine sandy beach on Whitsand Bay in south-east Cornwall.
Long stretch of sand with rocky outcrops. Tregantle Fort overlooks the beach. When the area is being used as a live firing range the beach is closed.
RNLI Lifeguards are on duty at Tregantle beach from early May to the end of September.
Weekends and bank holidays only from 3 May until 5 July
Daily 5 July -7 September
It is advisable not to swim along the beach except when the Lifeguards are on duty due to
strong rip currents.
There is safety equipment throughout the year.
There are often good surfing conditions here.
Popular with families
Tregantle beach is dog friendly with dogs allowed on the beach all year round.
There are no toilets.
