Tregithey Woods are a mixed woodland with many native species hidden away between Carne and Gillan on a creek of the Helford River.
After a climb up from the waterside near the small bridge the path leads you to a lovely meadow with lovely views across to the treetops on the opposite bank of Gillan Creek.
A well placed bench at the top of the meadow is a lovely place to sit and enjoy a picnic.
The downward loop of the path brings you out a little further up the lane towards Gillan.
On the day we visited the National Trust, who own the site, were carrying out some seasonal maintenance, looking after the paths and had just cut the grass in the meadow.
Tregithey Woods are free access and dogs are welcome.
Part of the wood is private. This is clearly signposted.
