Mineral Sold in 1864 Black tin ... 36 tons. 11 cwts. 0 gra. 12 lbs ... for ... £2,270 0s 5d The present working commenced in 1839 ; there has been a loss, but amount unknown, except during the last 5 years, when it was £4,100 ; of which last year's was £1,200. From 'Observations on the West of England Mining Region' J.H. Collins A combination of Wheal Spearn with some adjoining properties not completely formed until 1839. In 1865 was 150 fathoms below adit (26) but full of water below the 90. Had 30-inch pumping and 20-inch winding engines and two water-wheels. In 1870 was the same depth and employed eighty people. 1833-73, sold 565 tons of black tin and 34 tons of copper ore.
