Guelder Rose
Flowers: Guelder Rose

The guelder rose is a native UK shrub also known as dogberry; water elder; cramp bark; snowball tree; and European cranberry bush.

Viburnum opulus

Its common name 'guelder rose' comes from the Dutch province of Gelderland, where a popular cultivar, the snowball tree, is supposed to have originated.

Photographed in October 2018 at Coose Trannack, a Woodland Trust wood near Helston
