Newlyn Harbour is mentioned as early as 1435. This quay belongs to the old part of the harbour and is still used today, incorporated into the new harbour.

Mineral extraction started here in the early 19th century. Gwavas Quarry closed in 1989/90. |
The Ocean Pride is the only remaining Peakes built counter stern lugger in existence.
