Boat Cove is a great place to watch the waves. This photograph was taken in April on a windy day a couple of hours before high tide.

Sighted at least four dolphins swimming off Boat Cove and Portheras Cove on the 4th June 2018. These two were swimming together. |
Portheras is an isolated cove with a sandy beach. It can be accessed via the coast path by parking near Pendeen Lighthouse or from the small car park at Lower Chypraze Farm.
|
Tucked away at the end of a valley, this lovely beach can be reached from walking the coast path from Pendeen Lighthouse for about 1 km or from public footpath from Chypraze Farm.

Seal spotted between Pendeen Lighthouse and Boat Cove on the Land's End Peninsula |
Cornwall's coast path is alive with wildflowers, colourful moths and butterflies and fantastic coastal scenery and beaches. Portheras Cove is on the north coast of the Land's End peninsula. The Cinnabar Moth (Tyria jacobaeae) starts life as the familiar black and yellow striped caterpillar often seen on Ragwort (Jacobaea vulgaris). Here its moth is perched on a Scabious flower. |
