There is an ancient settlement on Willapark dating from the Iron Age. The cliff castle's defence consisted of a bank and ditch 48 metres long.

Merlin's Cave is accessible at low water from the small beach of Tintagel Haven. The cave cuts through the headland and its entrance is marked by a small figure of Merlin's face carved into the rock.

At high water only a tiny amount of beach is available but at low water Tintagel Haven has a large pebbly beach with access to Merlin's Cave. |

Willapark is the large headland on the left. The remains of a prehistoric settlement can be seen here. The large rock to the right is Lye Rock. The two small rocks off Willapark are known as The Sisters. |
