West Wheal Owles at Botallack is one of the main locations in Cornwall where Poldark is filmed. West Wheal Owles is dressed as Wheal Leisure and Wheal Grace.

West Wheal Owles features as Poldark's Wheal Leisure.

West Wheal Owles, also known as Cargodna Mine, is situated on the cliffs on the right of the photo. The Crowns at Botallack can be seen perched just above the sea on the left of the photo. Between them are the remains of Botallack's numerous mining ventures, all part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site.

These mines and this stretch of coastline, features prominently in the BBC's latest adaptation of Winston Graham's Poldark saga. West Wheal Owles is featured as Captain Poldark's Wheal Leisure and The Crowns Engine Houses depict Francis Poldark's mine, Grambler.

Viewers of the latest series of Poldark will recognise these two mine engine houses. In the foreground is West Wheal Owles which featured as Wheal Leisure in the Poldark series.

Filming for the second series of Poldark has started and West Wheal Owles is being dressed to become Wheal Leisure.

West Wheal Owles is used as a filming location for Poldark. The mine becomes Wheal Leisure and in this photograph it is being transformed into Wheal Grace.
