Bream Cove is a small, sheltered beach overlooking Falmouth Bay and just north of the Helford estuary.
This delightful beach is privately owned but there are no restrictions on public access.
Bream Cove is accessed via a public footpath through woods and is a distance of about 300 metres from the beginning of the path.
East facing. Mostly consists of shingle with some rocks.
Of interest to geologists, the rocks are slate with glacial head from the last Ice Age, illustrating a time period of 400 million years.
At low tide there are rock pools to explore.
Bream Cove has no facilities. The nearest are 1 km along the coast at Maenporth, which has toilets, a cafe and restaurant.
Good for swimming and bathing on an incoming tide except when there is a strong easterly wind. Popular for snorkelling and diving.
No lifeguard service and no safety equipment.
Bream Cove is dog friendly with dogs allowed all year round.
To the south of the main cove is a sandy area of beach called Nansidwell Cove, where the valley from Nansidwell Manor meets the sea.
Car parking is beside the road.
At low tide it is possible to scramble over to the sandy beach at Gatamala Cove.
