The Giant's Hedge is a strange stone earthwork, the purpose of which is uncertain, which extends from Lerryn to Looe
While the name and early folklore suggests it was built by a giant,an old rhyme ascribes its creation to be a construction of the devil,
"One day, the Devil having nothing to do,
Built a great hedge from Lerryn to Looe"
It is possible that this linear earthwork marked the boundary of a post-Roman kingdom.
Much of the hedge has disappeared due to agriculture over time but there are still large sections of it - one of 5.5 miles between Lerryn Creek and Muchlarnick. The best preserved section runs through Willake Wood near Lerryn.
