The Pentewan Trail is a mostly flat cycling and walking trail beginning at London Apprentice near St Austell and ending at Pentewan Beach
2.5 miles (4 km)
An easy walking and cycling route which uses the former narrow gauge railway that ran between St Austell and Pentewan. The trail is a legacy of the former local mining industry. Most of the main trail has a hard surface. The smaller path near the trail follows the route of the White River and can also be by walked or cycled. The main trail passes the Woodland Trust's Kings Wood which makes an interesting detour along small pathways. At Pentewan village the trail continues beside the river, passing the former railway sidings until you reach the beach.
There is car parking available at London Apprentice at the start of the trail.
