The churchtown of St Minver is located near the B3314 road, 3 miles (5 km) from Wadebridge. The parish church is dedicated to St Menefreda (also known as Saint Menwreda, St Mynfreda, St Minefreda), the origin of todays name St Minver. Its tall spire can be seen from miles around.
The Saint was one of the 24 children of King Brychan, a Welsh saint and king.
St Menefreda's Church contains a brass from the 16th century, a memorial to Roger Opy.
Two smaller churches lie within the parish, St Enodoc Church and St Michael's at Porthilly near Rock.
Between 1665 and 1742 there was a Friends Meeting House in St Minver parish - a meeting place for Quakers. The Quaker burial ground can still be seen near Treglines (SW 955 778). The walled area is recorded to contain 28 burials but there are no memorial stones. Instead, the burial ground contains trees. In 1987, the walls of the burial ground were listed by Historic England. One of the burials here was of John Peters who was interred on the 7th July 1708. He was the steward of the Carews of Roserrow.
