The Tolgus Trail will be 3.5km (2.2 miles) in length and is due for completion in Winter 2009/10.
From the Treasure Park the trail goes North around the old Tolgus Tin Streaming Works which is now a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Passing through farmland it crosses the White River and the main road to Portreath and then connects with the Coast to Coast Trail at Cambrose.
The Tolgus Trail is flat and almost completely off-road with just one main road to cross.
The Tolgus Tin Streaming Works, which covered a considerable area between Redrith and Portreath, was important for reclaiming tin ore from sand and gravel through a process of filtering using water.
