Praa Sands beach is popular with dog walkers during winter and early spring. The long stretch of sand is perfect for a walk and there are two freshwater streams crossing the beach, perfect for your dog to have a drink, one at the Sydney Cove end and another smaller one at the far end of the Hendra area of the beach.

This happy dog was enjoying the beach a few days after the snow melted.

From Easter Day until the 30th September dogs are only allowed on Praa Sands Beach from 7pm until 7am.

Praa Sands is a long, sandy beach, very popular with surfers and a great family beach.

Now autumn is here the beach is a favourite for dog walkers too.

This long sandy beach has a Second World War concrete pill box at its southerly end towards Hendra. The structure is now on the beach.

There are two streams which cross the beach, one at the Praa Sands end and the other at Hendra, so your dog has plenty of opportunity for a cool drink after a run on the beach.

There are facilities providing human refreshment too.
