Boat Cove at Pendeen is a tiny fishing cove tucked away behind Pendeen Lighthouse on the north coast of the Land's End Peninsula.

This lovely sandy, beach stands in a magnificent location with stunning coastal views of Portheras Cove and Gurnard's Head in the distance. The beach disappears at high tide.

There is a slipway on to the beach but this is for the use of the fishermen and not for launching leisure craft.

Above the beach the fishing boats are winched out up the slipway near the cluster of fishermen's huts. This is a working cove so please take care when the winch is in operation.

Sitting above the cove we found it very sheltered. Several people were exercising there dogs on the beach and others were admiring the wonderful view.

Swimming may be possible on an incoming tide but take care as there can be strong currents here. This is not a surfing beach. There are many rock pools to explore at low tide

There is safety equipment.

Boat Cove is dog friendly with dogs allowed on the beach all year round.

No facilities. The closest toilets and shops are at Pendeen

Accessed from the coastal footpath from the car park near Pendeen Lighthouse or from Portheras Cove.

There is a small car park just above the lighthouse and a larger car parking area down the lane to the right. Please do not park on the access to the lighthouse.

Location:
Park at Pendeen Watch Lighthouse and follow the coast path down towards Portheras Beach. You will reach Boat Cove in about 10 minutes.
