Epphaven Cove is a small, secluded, north-west facing, rocky cove with a sandy beach at low tide.
Bounded by Pennywilgie Point, at low tide you can walk around the point to Lundy Beach or scramble down rocks to it from the coast path.
The beach becomes quite large at low water and as it merges with Lundy Beach it produces a strip of sand over ft (600 metres) long.
There are a number of caves to explore and many rock pools.
Access by scrambling down rocks from the coast path or at low water from Lundy Beach.
Swimming is possible in good conditions on an incoming tide.
Surfing is possible at low water.
There is no lifeguard service. Safety equipment is available above the beach.
There is some on road car parking but there is a limited amount of space. If you have parked on the road use the nearby public footpath to access the coast path.
The better option is to park at the National Trust car park which is used for Lundy Beach. A public footpath starts opposite the car park which takes you to the coast path where you then turn right. Walk past Lundy Hole and then use either the Lundy Beach access if the tide is low or walk further to use the next access point which involves clambering down rocks.
Epphaven Cove is dog friendly with dogs allowed all year round.
No facilities. The nearest toilets are at Polzeath.
