Lundy Beach is a lovely, sandy beach on the north coast of Cornwall between Polzeath and Port Quin.
At high tide there is very little beach but as the tide goes out a 437 yards (400 metre) expanse of sand appears from Pennywilgie Point to Great Lobb’s Rock in the west. There are numerous rock pools to explore at low water.
When the tide is very low it is often possible to walk around the point to Epphaven
Cove.
An interesting rock formation can be seen here, a collapsed sea cave, called Lundy Hole
Lundy Beach is dog friendly with dogs allowed all year round.
There is no lifeguard service and no rescue equipment.
No facilities. The nearest are at Polzeath, just over 1.5 miles (2.5 km)
Swimming is possible in good conditions on an incoming tide but should be avoided at all other times as there can be strong currents.
National Trust Car Park.
Access to Lundy Beach is via a signposted, public footpath opposite the car park.
The walk is less than a half mile (700 metres) Continue past Lundy Hole to steps which lead onto the beach.
