Ogo Dour is a small cove with a stony beach set in stunning cliff scenery within the Lizard National Nature Reserve.
Cornish Choughs frequent this coastline with choughs regularly breeding on the Lizard coast.
Ogo Dour is situated at the northern end of Predannack Downs on the west coast of the Lizard peninsula.
Its name is from the Cornish words 'ogo' meaning a 'cave' and 'dour' meaning 'water'.
The mineral, Prehnite occurs here - a calcium alumosilicate.
There is no beach at high water. At very low spring tides you can access another beach to the left from Ogo Dour but take care not to get cut off by an incoming tide.
No lifeguard cover and no safety equipment.
Ogo Dour Cove is dog friendly with dogs allowed all year round (if you can get your pets to scramble down to the beach)
There are no facilities here. The nearest toilets can be found at Mullion Cove (seasonal) and Kynance Cove. The Kynance Cove car park toilets are seasonal but the toilets in the cove are open all year round.
National Trust car park at Predannack Wollas. From the top right of the car park take the footpath which leads to the coast path. On reaching the coast path turn left. Follow the stream to the access point for the beach. This is not the easiest beach to access. You may wish to admire it from the coast path.
