The Flicka Foundation Donkey Sanctuary is a sanctuary for the donkeys and ponies who have been rescued.

Entry to the sanctuary is free, but donations to help support the donkeys are always welcome.

The estuary of the River Fal and Falmouth Bay are idyllic locations for enjoying the water, whether you enjoy sailing, kayakking, fishing or simply want to sit back and enjoy the view from Pendennis Point. St Anthony Head with its lighthouse can be seen in the background.

In addition to sailing and power boats you can also enjoy a pleasure cruise from Falmouth.

Peaceful ripples across Falmouth Bay from Pendennis Point. The Point is a great place to sit and relax.

On the morning of 18th December 2018, a 16,000 tonne Russian cargo ship, the Kuzma Minin, ran aground just off Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth.

The 590ft (180m) ship was listing about five degrees.

Several local harbour tugs came to its aid, with an RNLI lifeboat in attendance and another larger tug, Cannis arriving from Fowey just after high tide.

The combined effort of the tugs, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) co-ordinating the rescue and the RNLI lifeboat saw the vessel being refloated and towed into deep water just after 2pm on the afternoon's high tide.

Sitting at Pendennis Point you can enjoy all types of watercraft coming and going. It's a great place to sit and watch the passing ships and smaller craft. This is the Northern Star.
