Gunwalloe Parish Church is tucked under the cliff in the foreground, a most unusual location for a church. Church Cove is a popular family beach. It has been used as a location in the latest TV adaptation of Poldark. It can be seen in Series 1 in the shipwreck scene.

Silver coins from the wreck of the Spanish ship, San Salvador, lost in 1669, have occasionally been washed up at Dollar Cove.

The beautiful stretch of beach known as Jangye Ryn or Dollar Cove can be found at Gunwalloe a short distance from Church Cove. Jangye Ryn has been used as a filming location for the latest adaptation of Poldark. It is featured in Series 2.

Known as Dollar Cove because of the Spanish silver dollars occasionally found washed up here from the wreck of the Rio Nova, driven onto the beach here in January 1787. The combination of stormy seas and the sharp rocks which you can see running down the beach into the sea would have made short work of any vessel foundering here.

A lovely beach to visit at any time of year and great for dog walkers as it is dog friendly all year round.

Jangye Ryn is a pretty beach on the west coast of the Lizard peninsula. At low water the beach extends towards the headland of Pedngwinian
